Tilt and impact indicators for transporting machinery and heavy loads

A control cabinet tipped onto its side, a machine dropped from a forklift, a transformer hit during unloading — damage often only shows up during installation. The indicators show whether and when mishandling occurred.

Who it is for

The indicators are used by manufacturers and forwarders transporting sensitive and expensive loads:

  • control cabinets, switchgear, electrical equipment
  • industrial machinery and equipment, machine tools
  • transformers, generators, wind turbine components
  • servers, medical and laboratory equipment
  • military equipment and ammunition

How it works in practice

You attach the indicator to the packaging or the device before dispatch. On unloading, the recipient checks the window: clear — everything is OK, red — the load was tipped or hit. A note on the waybill protects you in a claim.

Deterrent effect

A visible indicator with a warning label in itself changes the behaviour of warehouse staff and drivers — the number of transport damages usually drops significantly.

Frequently asked questions

How does a tilt indicator differ from an ordinary “do not tip” sticker?

An ordinary sticker is only a request. A TiltWatch indicator permanently changes colour when the load is tilted beyond the threshold or tipped over — you have proof on delivery and grounds for a claim against the carrier.

Can the indicator be reset?

No. The indicators are single-use and tamper-resistant, which is why they are accepted as evidence in transport disputes.

What should I choose to transport a transformer or a large machine?

For high-value loads we recommend combining a TiltWatch tilt indicator with a ShockWatch 2 impact indicator, and for very expensive loads — the MAG 2000 mechanical shock recorder.

Which impact indicator sensitivity should I choose?

The heavier the load, the lower the sensitivity in G. We will help you match the value to the weight and type of packaging.
